How long does an air conditioning system last in florida?

10/25/2016

In Florida,  Air Conditioning systems are most of the time, ran all year round. This decreases the life span of a typical AC unit(which is about 8 -10 years), especially if regular maintenance is not done and or if it is installed directly on the coast.

Should you get an evaporative cooler or a dehumidifier type of air conditioner? Making the right choice depends on specific details regarding the climate where you live.

Any residential HVAC system should be designed using the ACCA Manual J, S and D process. The Manual J will determine the cooling load including the total, sensible and latent (removal of humidity) needs. The equipment should then be selected based on those load requirements using the ACCA Manual S selection process. At that time a duct or distribution system can then be designed for the selected equipment using the ACCA Manual D design process.

I agree. Air conditioners circulate and filter air, removing pollutants and mold from the air. This is especially important for people who suffer from allergies and asthma because it minimizes the irritants that trigger an attack.
